Internal adaptations that respect the building’s heritage listing
After standing empty for more than three decades, the Grade II-listed Horton Chapel needed extensive renovation to prevent further dereliction and create a new community space. The Horton Chapel Arts & Heritage Society charity appointed Eden to deliver a full fit out, transforming the building into a vibrant arts and heritage venue. With a 12-week programme and a 2,000 sq ft project size, the challenge was to restore historic features while introducing modern facilities for café, performance, and teaching spaces.
Eden’s team carefully balanced heritage restoration with contemporary design. Works included:
Internal works including partition walls, new doors/screens, and full decoration
Horton Chapel has been brought back into community use as a striking, multi-purpose venue that retains its historic character while providing high-quality, modern facilities. Delivered on time and on budget, the project has safeguarded a landmark building and created a café, performance space, and teaching area that will serve the community for years to come.
