THE CHALLENGE

Eden was appointed to deliver a new bouldering centre in Aldgate for City Bouldering. With 935 sqm of space, and just 10 weeks to complete the project, the challenge was to transform a tired, outdated building into a modern climbing facility. The works required careful planning, beginning with the safe removal of asbestos-containing floor tiles, before stripping back the unit to create a blank canvas.

OUR SOLUTION

Drawing on our expertise in climbing wall installations and leisure fit outs, Eden managed every stage of the build. Works included:

  • Safe removal of asbestos flooring and strip-out of existing fixtures and fittings
  • Installation of a new raised structural floor for changing areas
  • Construction of partitions, plasterboard ceilings, and IPS panel systems for showers and W.C.s
  • Installation of sanitaryware, internal laminate doors, and fire doors
  • New flooring and full decoration to walls and ceilings
  • Mechanical and electrical installations, including power supplies, lighting, emergency lighting, CCTV, access control, data outlets, and fire alarms
  • Mechanical installation of a ventilation system and pipework for above-ground drainage
  • Design and installation of a sprinkler system
