Our in-house Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring our procedures and systems. Their role includes advising senior management on training needs and resources, reporting on safety performance, and investigating any incidents with a focus on prevention and learning.
But health and safety is not the responsibility of one person alone. Every Eden employee and subcontractor is accountable for their own safety and for the safety of those around them. This shared commitment is what keeps our sites running smoothly and safely.
Handbooks and policies
All staff and subcontractors receive Eden’s Health, Safety and Environmental Handbook, which outlines our expectations, policies and best practices. This forms the foundation of our safety culture, and ensures consistent standards across all teams.
Site operatives must also attend an on-site induction before starting work. This covers Eden’s safety requirements, project-specific rules, and emergency procedures. Each operative must sign a Site Rules Acceptance Record confirming their understanding and commitment to safe working practices.
Eden fully complies with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) and has delivered a wide range of projects within this framework. Our team is experienced in fulfilling both principal contractor and contractor duties under CDM and works collaboratively with all parties to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Training and qualifications
We maintain a structured training programme to ensure every team member is equipped with the knowledge, skills and qualifications needed to work safely and responsibly.
To enhance compliance and transparency, we use 1Breadcrumb, a digital safety platform integrated with our project management systems. It allows us to:
This technology supports safer sites while reducing paperwork and improving sustainability.
Health and safety is more than a box to tick.
At Eden, it’s part of how we build.
