THE CHALLENGE

Eden was commissioned once again by our continuing client Options to deliver another specialist school in Gloucester. Brookthorpe Hall, a large manor house, needed a full transformation to become a safe and functional school for children with special needs. The scope included internal alterations and fit-out, external landscaping, new access and parking, and the creation of a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA). The project presented challenges around location, weather conditions, and the coordination of multiple trades on a complex site.

THE SOLUTION

We began with demolition, alterations, repairs and partitioning to shape the internal layout. The MUGA was delivered in collaboration with specialist contractors, providing a high-quality outdoor facility for daily use. To meet requirements for access and parking, Eden undertook a full external reconfiguration including new roads, pathways, fencing, soft landscaping, and the installation of new automatic gates.

Internally, the building was completely refurbished. All floors, doors, and windows were replaced, with full mechanical and electrical works carried out. We installed new FF&E throughout to create a safe and appropriate learning environment. A bespoke lift was designed and installed to connect the ground and first floors. To overcome logistical and environmental challenges, Eden worked with local suppliers and trades, ensuring efficiency and continuity across the programme.
